July 28: the Day of Ukrainian Statehood

The history of Ukraine is actually the history of the struggle of the Ukrainian people for their state and independence. That is why Ukraine celebrates the Day of Ukrainian Statehood on July 28.

The Day of Ukrainian Statehood was founded according to the decree of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, dated August 24, 2021. The date was not chosen by chance: on this day, another holiday is celebrated in Ukraine - The Christianization of Kievan Rus'.

The holiday has its own symbol - four tridents (or tryzubs), which mean struggle, independence, history and identity. This symbol refutes the myth that Ukraine is a young state because our emblem comes from the Rurikids' symbols and was the native symbol of the great Knyaz Saint Vladimir, who baptized Kievan Rus'.

The Day of Ukrainian Statehood is an opportunity for every Ukrainian to remember their country's history, the struggle for independence, unity and a happy life. This day proves that Ukrainians cannot be broken and confirms the connection of the modern generation with many previous ones.

Happy Statehood Day, Ukrainians!
