About 80 villages and settlements have already suffered! About 16,000 people are in the "critical zone" on the Ukrainian-controlled right bank of the river. Apart from the fact that many settlements will be flooded and uninhabitable, the Kakhovka Canal, which supplies water to occupied Berdiansk and most of the settlements in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, is at risk of running out of water.
The problem with the irrigation system in Ukraine's south will also add to the humanitarian disaster. It is not only a matter of next year's harvest shortfall but also soil degradation, changes in flora and fauna, etc...
According to our information, about 5,000 refugees from the affected region will soon arrive in Odessa. Together with our partner Gamingtec, we are already purchasing 2,500 food packages to feed 2,500 people from among those evacuated to the city.
